Although this rumor has surfaced once before, it seems Katherine Heigl is finally ready to leave Grey’s Anatomy.
The ABC show’s creator, Shonda Rimes, has agreed to release Katherine from her contract reports Entertainment Weekly. A final exit agreement however, still needs to be worked out.
Katherine had been on temporary leave from the show while she focused on her film career and newly-adopted daughter, Naleigh. She was expected to resume work on March 1 but never appeared in the studio on or after that date, reports EW.com.
The actress may in fact, end up not shooting anymore episodes. An ABC rep declined to comment.
It’s not like it wasn’t a long time coming though. Katherine has always had a rough relationship with the show. In 2008 if you recall, she pulled herself out of the running for the Emmys, complaining that she didn’t receive any “material…to warrant a nomination.”
Additionally, last summer, she told David Letterman that the “17-hour work day” on the show was “cruel and mean.”
We like Katherine, but seriously… what an ungrateful bitch.
Grey’s Anatomy star Katherine Heigl and her husband Josh Kelley are expecting a little bundle of joy…but not one of their own!
The couple are in the process of adopting a baby, her rep confirmed to Usmagazine.com.
Heigl, who married her musician husband in December 2007, will officially announce that she and Kelly are adopting a baby girl from Korea on Friday’s episode of The Ellen Degeneres Show, a source told Us.
Their new addition, which has been a six month process, is a 10-month-old girl named Nayleigh, according RadarOnline.com.
“She is thrilled,” a source told RadarOnline.com. “She and Josh are so happy.”
Most people dream of the day they give birth to their first child but Heigl says she “always planned” to adopt.
“I’m done with the whole idea of having my own children,” Heigl told USA Today. “[It] doesn’t seem like any fun. I don’t think it’s necessary to go through all of that.”
In that case you better not pull a Kourtney Kardashian and forget to take your birth control! Or better yet, you should demand that Josh get a vasectomy to ensure that you won’t be popping any babies out!
A telephoned bomb threat at The Beverly Hills’ Four Seasons Hotel forced Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler to put their Ugly Truth press junket on hold on Saturday.
During the two-hour break, police investigated the premises while the actors mingled with fans and snapped photos on the street outside the hotel before sneaking into nearby restaurant Il Cielo.
Additionally, Gerard found himself among the AC Milan soccer team, who was also staying at the hotel before their match against the LA Galaxy, reported RadarOnline.com.
Following their final sweep of the hotel, the actors and guests were invited back into the hotel to resume the event.
Nicole Richie Emotional Over Grey’s 100th Episode!

It looks like Nicole Richie is definitely preggers!
During the 100th episode of Grey’s Anatomy, Katherine Heigl’s character, Izzie, unexpectedly marries Alex, and apparently it was very emotional for Richie.
After the show Richie went straight to her Twitter page and wrote, “Just watched Grey’s and cried my f-ing eyes out.”
Meredith and Derek were supposed to wed, but Izzie, who is battling a brain tumor, couldn’t wait. Unable to help with the cancer, Meredith handed over her wedding dress, resulting in Izzie tying the knot in front of all Meredith and Derek’s guests.
This show and Nicole never seizes to surprise us! We hope Joel Madden has a full stock of tissues on hand for his waterfalls pregnant wife!
Blonde beauty Katherine Heigl, aka Dr. Izzie Stevens on top drama Grey’s Anatomy, has made the leap into the Hollywood “A-lister” arena.
Heigl is among one of the top five of Hollywood’s highest-paid actresses, according to the Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment: Power 100 List.
The 30-year-old who is rather new to the big screen made her movie debut with 2007’s Knocked Up, which has grossed more than $148 million and followed the comedic hit up with 27 Dresses.
Katherine finds herself in good company on the list, falling just short of top names such as: Angelina Jolie (No. 1), Julia Roberts (No. 2), Reese Witherspoon (No. 3) and Cameron Diaz(No. 4).
In July, Forbes listed Heigl at No. 73 on the Celebrity 100 list, making her the highest-paid TV actress, with earnings at $13 million.

Grey’s Anatomy star Katherine Heigl still hasn’t kicked her habit of smoking and it may start costing her!
Heigl was recently having lunch with her mom at P.F. Chang’s in Santa Monica when she tossed her cigarette butt on the ground in front of a cop on a bike and ended up having to sweet-talk her way out of a ticket, reportedStar magazine.
“The officer told Katherine to pick up the butt and throw it away in the trash, 10 feet away,” a source told Star. “He added that he’d fine her next time he catches her tossing trash on the sidewalk.”
I guess it’s illegal even for celebrities to be litterbugs!
Josh Kelley attended the annual Piven Theatre Workshop at Rockit Bar & Grill Saturday night, and even though his wife Katherine Heigl wasn’t with him, all his attention was focused on his wife.
The Boots Girls were at Kelley’s table with him when he excused himself to take a call from “the wife”.
Must have been a good convo! After the phone call Kelley really laid on the adoring husband role by pulling out his iPhone, which has a picture of him and Heigl as the background, and showed off a new picture he snapped of Heigl before coming to Chicago. Nice to see something real in Hollywood marriage for a change!

Red seemed to be the color of choice for ladies gowns. Who wore it best: I have two picks - Heidi Klum rocker couture and Ann Hathway gave youth to her flowing red gown.
Also, best dressed was Renee Zellweger, and my overall pick, Jennifer Garner because her dress and jewelry were PERFECT!
The worst dressed list is as follows: Jennifer Hudson’s dress was too small and too low cut in back and sides. It was far beyond unflattering.
Cameron Diaz’s dress was too small too and did nothing for her figure. She had back fat hanging over the sides.
I’m not sure where Daniel Day Lewis’s wife, Rebecca Miller, got such a hideous ensemble.
Sarah Larson, George Clooney’s girlfriend, wore a dress that looked like the fabric from my grandmothers curtains! Tragic!
Most age appropriate was Ruby Dee and Miley Cyrus.
Best dressed pregnant actress was Jessica Alba. She glowed and looked stunning in purple Marchesa.
Overall, worst goes to Katherine Heigl who ruined a gorgeous gown and tiny waist with clown-like makeup and old-fashioned hair.
