Grey’s Anatomy star Katherine Heigl and her husband Josh Kelley are expecting a little bundle of joy…but not one of their own!

The couple are in the process of adopting a baby, her rep confirmed to Usmagazine.com.

Heigl, who married her musician husband in December 2007, will officially announce that she and Kelly are adopting a baby girl from Korea on Friday’s episode of The Ellen Degeneres Show, a source told Us.

Their new addition, which has been a six month process, is a 10-month-old girl named Nayleigh, according RadarOnline.com.

“She is thrilled,” a source told RadarOnline.com. “She and Josh are so happy.”

Most people dream of the day they give birth to their first child but Heigl says she “always planned” to adopt.

“I’m done with the whole idea of having my own children,” Heigl told USA Today. “[It] doesn’t seem like any fun. I don’t think it’s necessary to go through all of that.”

In that case you better not pull a Kourtney Kardashian and forget to take your birth control! Or better yet, you should demand that Josh get a vasectomy to ensure that you won’t be popping any babies out!

Boots reader Maggie ran into Josh Kelley on Tuesday while having lunch at Chicago’s Blue Water Grill.

“He was so nice and signed all my autographs!” Maggie told us. Kelley is always amazing to his fans when he comes to the Windy City! Josh played The Taste of Chicago this week and is also playing at a festival in Crystal Lake, Ill. this weekend.

  

The Boots Girls got a chance to sit down with singer Josh Kelley one-on-one before his private performance at the Hotel Indigo in Chicago’s Gold Coast. We asked Josh about everything from his new album, to married life…to the all important… has Katherine finally quit smoking?

Boots Girls: Josh, tell us a little about the new album Special Company and the inspiration behind it.

Josh Kelley: “It’s very autobiographical. Like a giant love letter. I wrote it at a time I was excited about love. All of my albums have been good, but this is by far the best!”

BG: Do you plan on going on tour with your new album?

JK: “Yeah, with Rod Stewart in August and then a headliner show in the fall.”

BG: Do you have anything in the works right now besides touring in the fall?

JK: “I’m about ready to start a new album in July. You have to start early, because these albums take awhile.”

BG: Your wife Katherine has been inspiration to your songs in previous albums. Was she inspiration to any of the songs on this album?

JK: “It’s not just her, but what is going on in my life.”

BG: Obviously, the track, Hey Katie was about her?

JK: “Let’s hope so!”

BG: So with a new album, new wife and house how do you juggle all of it and still stay so grounded?

JK: “Well I do a lot of work from home. I have a grand piano and some guitars, so its easy to work. We have had the same time off so its been easy to see her a lot. We are very honest people and are very grounded, that’s what keeps us together. Also, we come from good upbringings and are very laid back. I think that’s what brought us together.”

BG: You and your wife just got back from a vacation in Cabo, how was that?

JK: “It was awesome. We ate a lot! (Looks at his arm…) I did have a better tan than this!”

BG: (Jokingly) So did Katherine smoke a lot on vacation, or has she given up that habit?

JK: “Wow! I didn’t know people were talking about her smoking. Yeah, unless she quit while I was here, (Chicago) she’s still smoking. I know eventually she would like to quit, but she will do it on her own time.”

After our chat with Kelley he performed for about 50 guests in one of Hotel Indigo’s private rooms. He played the crowd favorite Amazing where he joked to the audience, “I don’t know why but a part of this song always reminds me of my college roommate. He never bathed and always would leave KFC boxes under his bed!”

As The Boots Girls previously reported, Josh didn’t lack in the adoring husband department. He closed with Hey Katie and told the crowd, “I was in an interview once and they asked about a song I had written about my girlfriend, and I responded with, ‘Who wrote that song?’ At that point I decided I should probably write Katie a song, and I did… in 10 minutes!”

Josh Kelley attended the annual Piven Theatre Workshop at Rockit Bar & Grill Saturday night, and even though his wife Katherine Heigl wasn’t with him, all his attention was focused on his wife.

The Boots Girls were at Kelley’s table with him when he excused himself to take a call from “the wife”.

Must have been a good convo! After the phone call Kelley really laid on the adoring husband role by pulling out his iPhone, which has a picture of him and Heigl as the background, and showed off a new picture he snapped of Heigl before coming to Chicago. Nice to see something real in Hollywood marriage for a change!

So why wasn’t she with him in Chicago? “She’s not here because she’s back in L.A. filming Grey’s,” Josh said.

Boots Girl buddy Josh Kelley was back in the Windy City last Thursday to perform at Krem nightclub at an event hosted by Olympic winning beach volleyball duo Misty May and Kerri Walsh.

Kelley performed songs from all his albums and even improvised on a few. Check out the above video where he sings Amazing but jumps into a rap, and among other things, his rendition of Dick in a Box!

I chatted with Kelley a little bit about why he keeps popping up in Chicago and he told me, “I keep coming back because they keep inviting me. I love Chicago because it’s clean and safe.”

You got that right!

Kelley had a private table in the back VIP room of the club but chose to come out to the front to be available for autographs and pictures with his fans.

Katherine Heigl looked like the was sporting a shorter do yesterday while she attended a photo call for her new flick 27 Dresses in Madrid, Spain.

Heigl’s new hubby Josh Kelley was just in Chicago and told The Boots Girls that one of his favorite songs off his new CD Special Company is called 2 Cups of Coffee and starts off like:

“Two cups of coffee in the morning. Two days till I stop feeling blue. Two chairs one empty in the corner. I got too much of me and not enough of you.”

Awww…he’s obviously missing his wife!

I interviewed Josh Kelley Thursday night before he performed two shows at his main Special Company CD release party at Rockit Bar and Grill Thursday night in Chicago.

He chose to have his release party in the CHI because he told me he loves it! Above is a video of his performance.

On how married life is treating him after recently marrying Grey’s Anatomy star Katherine Heigl:
“I feel like we were definitely built for each other so it’s definitely natural.”

On the inspiration for his new CD:
“It was definitely her [Heigl] for sure. It was not just her, but just also the idea of marriage was the inspiration. Trying to really wrap my idea around spending the rest of my life with someone.”

On the robbers who recently stole a GPS system out of his ’99 Durango:
“What really makes them stupid is that there were $8,000 worth of guitars in the backseat and they didn’t take that.”

On plans for having kids:
“I don’t know yet. Just like anybody else we’ve talked about it, but we haven’t had the conversation. I think we are just going to enjoy being married for a while.”

Josh Kelley and wife Katherine Heigl woke up yesterday morning to find that one of their cars had the window smashed out and someone had taken their GPS system. Could have been worse!

Kelley was surprised to find that the thief had left behind his two expensive guitars that were sitting in the back seat and said, “I guess people who do this are pretty stupid.”

The Boots Girls are supposed to meet with Kelley tomorrow night in Chicago for the release of his new album Special Company. I hope he can still find his way to the Windy City without that GPS!

Newlyweds Katherine Heigl and Josh Kelley moved into their new Los Angeles home over the weekend. They didn’t hire movers, which is reminiscent of when another famous newlywed couple moved into their new home…Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey. But Heigl and Kelley had one up because they had the help of friendly paparazzi who stuck around to help.

Kelley chatted recently with Chicago radio station 101.9 FM The Mix’s Eric & Kathy Morning Show and said, “I pretty much consider Chicago my real home for music.”

On his wedding to Heigl:

“I almost broke my nose actually, three days before the wedding because I was skiing and I was hot-dogging and my knee hit my nose,” Kelley said. “And then the day after the wedding I lost my wedding ring in the snow. Like, 14 hours after. I found this 16 year-old kid who had a metal detector and I gave him 100 bucks and he came and found it for me!”

Kelley on his new life as a newlywed:

“The strike has been kind of a blessing for us because we’ve been able to be together more, but now that I’m promoting my record and she’s promoting her new movie it’s like time to get down to business. So now we’re back to that point where we’re making time.”

Unlike her character in the movie, never a bride always a bridesmaid, Heigl recently tied the knot with beau Josh Kelley. Obviously they’re still in the honeymoon phase!
