Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon hosted a Halloween party at Marquee in New York City last night in sexy firefighter costumes. Is anyone else wondering what's going on underneath that fireproof jacket? It looks like Nick might be putting out a hot fire - someone call 911!
A healthy and upbeat looking Patrick Swayze looked picturesque yesterday afternoon filming an episode for The Beast on a gorgeous fall day at Chicago's North Avenue Beach. Just days after Swayze gave a revealing interview with the New York Times where he exclaimed that he decided to go straight back to work after his diagnosis with pancreatic cancer, he was doing just that. Swayze filmed walking scenes at the beautiful Windy City beach on Lake Michigan and had that classic Swayze swagger in his step. In between scenes, Swayze hung out with his dogs, his wife Lisa Niemi and the crew. Swayze even opted to eat on the set instead of doing so in his trailer like divas like to do. However, when it was time for a wardrobe change, he did receive a police escort back to his trailer. Swayze has been lying low in the Windy City for the past couple of weeks. We think he is due for a fun date night out with his wife and we highly recommend going to see Dirty Dancing on Broadway!
Ellen DeGeneres presented some of this season's hottest Halloween costumes on her show yesterday and I think the little boy, named Jack, dressed up as Kid Rock had hands down the funniest costume! Check it out!
In this Sunday's issue of Parade magazine Nicole Kidman dishes about how she's "raw and emotional" and cries just thinking about her new baby. On the flip side, she also reveals how she went to "hell and back" when it came to hubby Keith Urban's alcohol addiction and trip to rehab. Here's some highlights from the provocative interview: As a new mother to daughter Sunday Rose, Kidman has reacted intensely with "whatever that primal thing is, the need and desire to keep her very protected.""People say, Oh, it would be so much easier if you¹d just let them get a photo of her. And I can't. I'm like, I don't want to. I want her to stay out of that. Maybe that will wane as she gets bigger, and I'll be easier with it. But for now, I'm still keeping her in a bubble. I cry even thinking of her. But they are tears of joy. Because I suppose I never thought I would get to have it. To have been given it so late in life." Kidman and ex-husband Tom Cruise share custody of their adopted children and, as she confirms, they were raised in Scientology. However, when the subject comes up, Kidman stiffens. "I just don't talk about it," she says. "Bella and Connor are 15 and 13, so we've taken them, Tom and I, almost into their adult life. To then have a birth child that I have to take into adult life, give her her wings, it's a big purpose. I know my place. Put it that way." Uh, that was an awkward answer! Not sure how to interpret that one... Four months after her 2006 wedding to country singer Urban, he checked himself into rehab. "We were thrown into his alcohol problem three months into the marriage, and that was big," she says. "We became the closest we could become, because we had to bare our souls. We did 10 years of marriage in three months. You go to hell and back with this when the addiction takes control of the life, it's terrifying. But there is hope, and we work on it every day, and we are in a place of actual peace right now, which is a beautiful place. I love him so deeply, and he has done an amazing amount of work, and he is an amazing husband, and I am just very, very grateful." Finally, Kidman says that Sunday Rose looks like her dad. "I'm glad, because when he goes on tour, I say to him that he leaves a little bit of him with me." Aw, how sweet!
Who said there was animosity between between Tina Fey and Sarah Palin? When Extra asked Fey if she would have the Republican vice presidential nominee on her hit show she said she is welcome anytime. "Yes, that lady is ratings gold," Fey said. "She is welcome anytime." I guess when ratings are at stake, politics are thrown out the window!
It looks like John and Elizabeth Edwards are headed for divorce after the former vice presidential candidate admitted to having an adulterous affair. Elizabeth was spotted giving a speech on Monday in Washington D.C. and you can clearly see in the video that she is not wearing her wedding ring. A source also told the New York Post that John is no longer living with Elizabeth and that the couple have separated. That woman has been through a lot -- maybe she can lean on Madonna for support!
Jennifer Hudson and her family have planned a private funeral service for her slain mother, brother and nephew. The private memorial service is scheduled for Monday at Chicago's Apostolic Church of God on Monday morning and only invited guests are welcome. Instead of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made for the newly created Hudson-King Domestic Violence Protection Fund, named in honor of the tragedy's three victims, Jennifer's mom, Darnell Donerson, her brother, Jason Hudson and the singer's 7-year-old nephew Julian King. The Hudson Funeral Home, which is owned by the Dreamgirls' star aunt and is handling the the funeral arrangements. There will be an announcement made tomorrow regarding the potential for a memorial service, which would be open to the public.
Angelina Jolie recently traveled to war-torn Afghanistan for the first time and she says after seeing that kind of suffering she doesn't complain anymore. The Goodwill Ambassador met with refugees who have returned to their post-Taliban homeland to rebuild their lives after fleeing in 2001. She also visited projects by Afghan Hands, an organization helping women and children, inspired by her work with refugees. "After seeing real suffering you never complain anymore," she told People. She went on to say what the first thing she did when she returned home was: "Hug the kids." Between making movies and raising six kids, I don't understand how Angelina finds the time to visit war-torn countries. Only Angelina!
