Golden Globes Highlights

January 12th, 2009

The 66th annual Golden Globes were surprisingly a little more entertaining than usual with bad jokes, drug references, celebrity disses and salty speeches!

- Colin Farrell sniffed on stage at the show and said it was cold and he wasn’t sniffling ‘‘for the reasons I used to.’’ Ha!

- Seth Rogen joked about doing cocaine with Mickey Rourke, and Sacha Baron Cohen noted that even Madonna has felt the impact of these hard economic times and it lead her to dumping many assistants — “Guy Ritchie.” Double ouch!

- During Tina Fey’s acceptance speech she told on-line haters to “suck it!” “If you ever start to feel too good about yourself, they have this thing called the Internet,” Fey said. “You can find a lot of people there who don’t like you.” Then she went on to tell them that they can suck it! You tell ‘em Tina!

- The Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan accepted a posthumous best supporting actor Golden Globe for Heath Ledger’s role as The Joker which comes almost a full year after his tragic death. Definitely the most touching moment of the evening.

- When 30 Rock won for best TV comedy series, Tracy Morgan joked ‘‘Tina Fey told me if Barack Obama won I’d speak for the show from now on — so look at the new face of TV!.”

- Kate Winslet was clearly the belle of the ball last night nabbing two Golden Globes - one for best supporting actress for The Reader and the second for best actress in Revolutionary Road.

- A giddy Drew Barrymore sported a bob straight from Revolutionary Road. Not sure what happy pills she was taking, but we’re guessing it was the endless supply of champagne!

- Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie dissed E!’s Ryan Seacrest by cruising right by him as he tried to interview them for the pre-show!

- Finally, did anyone find it ironic that when Jake Gyllenhaal talked about The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, starring Brad Pitt, he insisted that it is a film that celebrates that youth is not wasted on the young? We thought it was a strange choice of words to use for Pitt’s film considering that his ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston, has said in several recent interviews that ” the youth is wasted on the young”!

30 Rock Stars Feuding!

December 22nd, 2008

tinafeyalecbaldwin.jpg

Star is reporting that Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin are fighting on the set of 30 Rock.

This is apparently what happened at a recent photo shoot on set. “Get ready to do a lot of airbrushing,” Alec said. Tina, who recently commented on her childhood scar on her left cheek, fired back, “Something wrong with my face?”

Alec responded by saying that it was Tina’s whole body that would need to be airbrushed.

“Tina shot back that this was coming from a guy with a double chin who thinks Sarah Palin is hot,” a set source told Star. “Alec was steamed about it the rest of the day and had words with Tina about it later.”

Now, I’m sure that all of this was said, but these people are comedians! It is possible that they were just joking!

Tina Fey’s Bizarre Violent Childhood Attack

December 1st, 2008

Tina Fey never talks about the scars on her face, but her husband is revealing details in the January issue of Vanity Fair.

Fey was attacked by a stranger when she was 5 in a random and bizarre cutting attack!

“It was in, like, the front yard of her house,” said her husband Jeff Richmond. “and somebody who just came up, and she just thought somebody marked her with a pen.”

Yikes!

“That scar was fascinating to me. This is somebody who, no matter what it was, has gone through something.” Jeff continued to tell Vanity Fair. “And I think it really informs the way she thinks about her life. When you have that kind of thing happen to you, that makes you scared of certain things, that makes you frightened of different things, your comedy comes out in a different kind of way, and it also makes you feel for people.”

So, what does Tina have to say about the incident?

“It’s really almost like I’m able to forget about it, until I was on-camera, and it became a thing of ‘Oh, I guess we should use this side’ or whatever. Everybody’s got a better side.”

What kind of a sick person runs up to a 5 year-old and stabs them in the face? Seriously, WTF! I hope this guy’s dead or in jail! We all love Tina Fey and think that her scars make her who she is. This is a perfect example that beauty is only skin deep.

Tina Fey Resigns As SNL’s Sarah Palin

November 5th, 2008

Tina Fey says that she is retiring her role as Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live for good!

“I have to retire just because I have to do my day job,” Fey, the creator and star of 30 Rock, told Entertainment Weekly.

Yeah that and perhaps because Palin’s ticket didn’t win! Now we can only hope that Ben Affleck will return to SNL on a weekly basis to impersonate Keith Olbermann.

Fingers crossed!

SNL’s Funniest Show Ever, Possibly

November 3rd, 2008

Saturday Night Live was ridiculously funny on Saturday night! I swear each skit just kept getting funnier than the one before. However, I think the best skit was Ben Affleck imitating MSNBC’s overzealous controversial left wing host Keith Olbermann. Affleck nailed it!

My second fave skit was their mocking the girls of The View.

Finally, John McCain was very funny acting next to Tina Fey, as Sarah Palin, in a skit where they delivered “final remarks” on their campaign on QVC while selling products.

Kelly Ripa Rips Off Tina Fey As Sarah Palin

November 1st, 2008

Kelly Ripa dressed up as Sarah Palin and Regis Philbin dressed up as Joe Biden for Live with Regis and Kelly’s Halloween special on Friday morning. Yawn!

I think that dressing as Palin was the trendiest Halloween costume in the history of Halloween! What do you think of their impressions? Should Tina Fey be worried?

Tina Fey Invites Sarah Palin On 30 Rock

October 30th, 2008

Who said there was animosity between between Tina Fey and Sarah Palin?

When Extra asked Fey if she would have the Republican vice presidential nominee on her hit show she said she is welcome anytime.

“Yes, that lady is ratings gold,” Fey said. “She is welcome anytime.”

I guess when ratings are at stake, politics are thrown out the window!

Will Ferrell Revives W Alongside Tina Fey As Sarah Palin

October 24th, 2008

Will Ferrell revived his impersonation of George W. Bush for the Thursday night edition of Saturday Night Live.

In the skit, him and, Tina Fey as Sarah Palin, try to track down John McCain so he can give him his endorsement.

It’s not the funniest political SNL skit, but it’s decent.

SNL’s Ratings Soar

October 20th, 2008

Since Tina Fey’s return to SNL as Sarah Palin the ratings have skyrocketed! SNL’s ratings are up 76% this season!

Wow! I guess we know who SNL is voting for come Election Day!

Sarah Palin On SNL

October 19th, 2008

Not only did Sarah Palin boldly cross paths with Tina Fey on SNL last night, she was also in two sketches which included several cast members and even Alec Baldwin, Mark Whalberg and Lorne Michaels.

The best skit is when Amy Poehler does a rap about Palin that SNL had allegedly scripted for her to do. It’s hilarious! Click HERE to watch the videos!
