Nicole Kidman has a new role coming up, and it’s a totally unexpected character! Even more shocking though is the person playing her love interest!
Nicole has signed on to star in The Danish Girl opposite Gwenyth Paltrow! The role portrays the story of Nicole’s character, Einear Wegener, the first post-operative transsexual.
According to Variety, Gwyneth just joined the cast, and will star as Greta, the supportive wife of Nicole’s Einar.
In the story, Gwyneth’s character is a portrait painter who asks her husband to stand in for a female model. From there, she encourages him to continue wearing a dress and stockings after the portrait becomes increasingly more popular. When Einar (Nicole) makes the transformation to Lili, Greta’s plan backfires by causing tension in their marriage.
The film has yet to set a release date.
Daring role ladies! We can’t imagine any better actresses to portray such controversial and courageous characters.
Nicole Kidman has complained about her “boy-ish” figure in the past, but now she’s finding a way to bank on it!
Kidman will play a man who becomes a woman, according to Variety. Kidman will star in The Danish Girl, in which she’ll portray Danish painter, Einar Wegener, the first man to undergo a sex-change operation in 1931.
Hey, maybe seeing “Nick” on the big-screen as a dude will make Tom Cruise run right back into his ex-wife’s arms! Ahahahahahaha! We’re just saying…
Yes, that’s right. You can now lick some of your favorite Australian celebrities.
The Australia Post has named Academy Award winners Cate Blanchett, Nicole Kidman, Russell Crowe and Geoffrey Rush “Australian Legends” and will be putting their pictures on the .55 cent stamps.
“These four outstanding Australians have captured the imagination of millions of people in Australia and around the world with their award-winning performances,” Australia Post managing director Graeme John said in a statement.
“I am utterly, deeply humbled and chuffed by the fact that I’m a stamp,” Blanchett said. “I’m going to be licked by millions of Australians and I can’t wait. It is also recognising the value of the arts in Australia. It brings it into general consumption and if I’m part of that, I feel intensely proud.”
Kidman added, “I have a vested interest in Australia. I want my children to live here at certain times of their life and see how wonderful it is. It would be lovely for them to lick a stamp, put it on an envelope and say ‘that’s my mum’.
Each celeb will get two separate stamps; one of them in a real life shot and the other portraying a movie role. Also, they will each receive a 24-carat gold replica of their stamps.
What an honor! We wonder how they chose these four stars?

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes may be trying to have more children in addition to daughter Suri and surprisingly no one is rooting for a new Cruise baby more than Tom’s ex, Nicole Kidman!
In the December issue of Glamour, Kidman said that her teenage son with Cruise, Connor, is still hoping for a brother. “[He] would like one of us to have a boy,” she confesses. “He wants that boy. Katie?”
Kidman is throwing the challenge at Katie, because she knows her biological tock may have ticked past her baby making days.
“At 41, Nicole knows she’s not likely to have another baby,” a friend of the actress tells OK!. “It’s obviously up to the much younger Katie to give Connor that baby brother.”
The Cruises are more than ready to welcome a new child into their lives.
“Katie and Tom very much want another baby,” a friend of the couple tells OK!. “There may be no better time than now for Katie to get pregnant again and absolutely nothing would make Tom happier.”
In this Sunday’s issue of Parade magazine Nicole Kidman dishes about how she’s “raw and emotional” and cries just thinking about her new baby. On the flip side, she also reveals how she went to “hell and back” when it came to hubby Keith Urban’s alcohol addiction and trip to rehab.
Here’s some highlights from the provocative interview:
As a new mother to daughter Sunday Rose, Kidman has reacted intensely with “whatever that primal thing is, the need and desire to keep her very protected.”
“People say, Oh, it would be so much easier if you¹d just let them get a photo of her. And I can’t. I’m like, I don’t want to. I want her to stay out of that. Maybe that will wane as she gets bigger, and I’ll be easier with it. But for now, I’m still keeping her in a bubble. I cry even thinking of her. But they are tears of joy. Because I suppose I never thought I would get to have it. To have been given it so late in life.”
Kidman and ex-husband Tom Cruise share custody of their adopted children and, as she confirms, they were raised in Scientology. However, when the subject comes up, Kidman stiffens.
“I just don’t talk about it,” she says. “Bella and Connor are 15 and 13, so we’ve taken them, Tom and I, almost into their adult life. To then have a birth child that I have to take into adult life, give her her wings, it’s a big purpose. I know my place. Put it that way.”
Uh, that was an awkward answer! Not sure how to interpret that one…
Four months after her 2006 wedding to country singer Urban, he checked himself into rehab.
“We were thrown into his alcohol problem three months into the marriage, and that was big,” she says. “We became the closest we could become, because we had to bare our souls. We did 10 years of marriage in three months. You go to hell and back with this when the addiction takes control of the life, it’s terrifying. But there is hope, and we work on it every day, and we are in a place of actual peace right now, which is a beautiful place. I love him so deeply, and he has done an amazing amount of work, and he is an amazing husband, and I am just very, very grateful.”
Finally, Kidman says that Sunday Rose looks like her dad. “I’m glad, because when he goes on tour, I say to him that he leaves a little bit of him with me.”
”I was so embarrassed. It was very sweet, but I had no idea. But I will always remember Chicago forever for that. … There I was, 41 years old, a baby in my tummy and 50,000 people singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to me!”Nicole Kidmansaid of hubby Keith Urban getting the audience to serenade her during his concert at Soldier Field earlier this year.
Fashion magazine, Elle, honored eight women in Hollywood last night at the Four Seasons for their contribution to the industry.
The women being honored at the 15th Annual event included Halle Berry, Sigourney Weaver, Nicole Kidman, Jane Fonda, Anne Hathaway, Salma Hayek, Isla Fisher and Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke.
“The honorees this year are remarkable. They have pushed boundaries both on screen and on behalf of all women in Hollywood,”Elle’s editor-in-chief Robbie Myers said. “They have conquered this industry with grace and style, and we at Elle feel they should be commended for their contributions to this field.”
Also in attendance at the event were celebs such as Jenny McCarthy, Leah Remini, Chelsea Handler, Courteney Cox Arquette, Sheryl Crow and Kerry Washington.
Nicole Kidman and six other women who swam in the waters of a small Outback town Down Under during production of the movie Australia became pregnant says the Oscar-winning actress.
“I never thought that I would get pregnant and give birth to a child, but it happened on this movie,” Kidman toldThe Australian Women’s Weekly in an exclusive interview.
Kidman, 41, gave birth to her daughter Sunday Rose in July.
“To be given this again is a beautiful thing. To have raised Bella and Connor since I was 25 and now to be able to do it again at 41…wow!”
Congratulations Nicole! For all of you looking to conceive, forget fertility pills, just take a dip in Australian waters!
Finally! A Hollywood couple that isn’t racing to the tabloids to make money off the first pics of their bundle of joy.
Country crooner Keith Urban and his A-list wife, Nicole Kidman, are apparently undecided as to whether or not they want to sell pictures of Sunday Rose. They have reportedly already turned down several offers from magazines and a source close to the couple claims, “They don’t think it’s appropriate to make deals. They are still deciding how they feel about [it] - if and when they will release a photo at all. But they realize there is enormous interest from the public and they are grateful and appreciative of that.”
Turns out there are Hollywood couples that are more focused on parenting rather than how much money they can make off of their newborn. Although Kidman hasn’t shown her focus on parenting in the past since we RARELY ever see her with her two kids, Isabella and Conner, from her marriage with Tom Cruise, I still commend their attempt at privacy!
