Halle Berry Came From A Home Of Domestic Violence…

Halle Berry is opening up about the domestic violence she witnessed as a child!

“My mother was a battered woman and that was my childhood for a good chunk of it,” the star says in an interview with NBC’s Natalie Morales for an NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams segment airing Thursday.

Coming from a family full of domestic abuse encouraged Berry to get involved with Jenesse Center, an L.A.-based shelter that provides support for domestic violence victims and teaches them self-sufficiency.

“I care, I really care about these women and children,” says Berry, who visits the center on Thursday’s episode.

To show her extreme loyalty to the Jenesse Center, the famous actress has spent the last ten years leading fundraising campaigns and creating partnerships with companies to raise awareness about the center. She also makes time to meet with victims one-on-one to share experiences and cope with getting past them.

“Early on in my life, I made choices, and I chose men that were abusive because that was what I knew growing up,” she said four years ago, when she was honored by the Jenesse Center for her humanitarian work.

After countless therapy sessions, Berry learned what to do in the case that a relationship turn violent and hopes to pass the knowledge on to other victims of domestic violence.

Though she admits, “I’m not the girl that has the best relationships,” she’s found a good man in her baby daddy, Gabriel Aubrey.

It’s always great to see beautiful and strong women speaking out about their past in order to help younger girls in similar situations that they onced experienced!

Halle Berry confirmed to Ellen DeGeneres on her show that she’s ready for another child.

“My mind says yes,” she told Degeneres. “But the rest isn’t up to me so we’ll see.”

Berry, the mother of 1-year-old Nahla Ariela, is leaving the decision up to her husband, model Gabriel Aubry, who mentioned to People magazine in February, that Nahla “needs a sibling”.

And while Aubry, doesn’t rule out the idea of a big family, Berry isn’t planning on becoming the next Nadya Suleman.

“I hope I don’t have 14 more” she jokes with Ellen.

We hope so too. One octomom is more than enough!

Esquire magazine named Halle Berry the “Sexiest Woman Alive” in its November issue.

“I don’t know exactly what it means, but being 42 and having just had a baby, I think I’ll take it,” Halle told Esquire magazine.

And there may be another on the way! Rumors of another bun in the oven started at Elle’s 15th annual Women in Hollywood event in LA on Monday. Halle posed for pictures in a tight black dress and there is
an obvious baby bump.

Even if she is pregnant, Halle still looked gorgeous. The star says that sexiness is a state of mind and that it’s about loving yourself in your most unlovable moments.

We agree Halle! Your philosophy has definitely worked —you always look great!

Halle Berry showed off what appears to be an engagement ring from her boy toy and baby daddy, Gabriel Aubry.

Berry gave birth to her first child, Nahla Ariela Aubry, almost two months ago.

Gabriel and Halle sittin’ in a tree…K-I-S-S-I-N-G…first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes Nahla in a baby carriage.

Ok, so Berry and Aubry did things a little reversed from the traditional childhood chant, but close enough! LOL.

It’s A Girl!

March 16th, 2008

Star magazine is exclusively reporting that Halle Barry delivered a healthy baby girl earlier this morning after an initial scare.

“Berry had a 7lb 4 oz girl at 10:17 a.m. Sunday morning, March 16, at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. The actress had checked into the hospital for the second time that day after feeling contractions earlier Saturday morning,” an insider told Star

“Halle had come to the hospital at 4 a.m. in the morning because the felt like she was going into labor. It was a bit scary because her blood pressure was skyrocketing and everyone was a little tense. She’s a diabetic so that was complicating matters as well. The doctors checked the fetal heart rate and everything seemed okay. After a while Halle’s blood pressure came down. She wasn’t dilating anymore so at around 2:45pm they let her go home.

Halle felt her contractions come on a lot more intensely later that night so she came back to the hospital at 11:00 p.m. Saturday night.”

Congratulations Halle!
