While the rest of the world may refer to Jessica and Ashlee Simpson as jokes, Papa Joe Simpson insists that his famous daughters aren’t failures!
The whole fam damnily showed up to Ashlee’s Broadway debut in the role of Roxy at Monday’s performance of Chicago in Manhattan, and Joe admitted on the red carpet to feeling attacked by the media.
“We as a family are under a lot pressure,” Simpson said, adding that people want “to make us look bad and wants us to fail.”
Uhh, we don’t think they necessarily want his daughters to fail… maybe just him! Let’s face it, Joe’s a major creepshow who’s too involved in his daughter’s lives!
It’s definitely been a rough year for the Simpson sisters. Our girl Jess struggled with her weight, mourned the death of her precious dog Daisy and got dumped by NFL douchebag Tony Romo, while sister Ash got canned from the CW’s Melrose Place for poor acting!
“It was never a loss,” her father says of the Melrose burn. “The world says whatever it says. [The world], again, always want to make it look like we’r'e failures but we’re really just a family that works hard.”
As big Melrose Place fans we can attest that Ashlee’s acting did indeed suck but it made the show that much more entertaining!
If there’s one thing the Simpson’s know how to do, it’s ignore the media and move on.
“My children look at ups and downs and rise up above it all and remain strong…We’re just normal people, and we always try to be who we say we are.”
Joe’s a major creeper but we agree, J.Simp can’t do wrong in our eyes either!
Once again, Jessica Simpson is coming to her family’s defense.
The singer previously called Melrose Place“crap” after giving her younger sister, Ashlee Simpson Wentz the boot. Now, she’s going after celebrity blogger Perez Hilton who made fun of her nephew Bronx.
On Friday, Bronx’s first birthday, Perez wrote, “It’s been one year since Asslee pushed Bronx Mowgli through her vayjayjay and it’s all the family is talking about!”
He concluded his post by calling Bronx a “poor lil’ thing” who “doesn’t stand a chance!!!”
Jessica was NOT amused. Later that day she Twittered, “Does perez hilton..whatever his name really is..have no heart at all?Don’t ever attack my family again.Sad to know u hate so deeply.Sad 4 U”
Just hours after that though, her spirits seemed to be lifted as she Tweeted, “I challenge everyone to save up for a flt to somewhere you have always wanted to go. Get inspired beyond boundries [sic],” she wrote. “Find something waiting!”
Perez… you’re SO annoying. We totally have your back on this one Jess!
Today is the first birthday of Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson-Wentz’s son Bronx, and his parents are SO excited they took to Twitter to share the celebration!
“Happy Birthday to my precious angel on earth!!!” aunt Jessica Simpson Twittered this morning. “Bronx is 1 today!! I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!! I can’t believe it has been a year already.”
After welcoming her son last November, Ashlee has declared motherhood as “the most fantastic experience I have ever been through,” adding that her boy makes her “laugh and smile everyday.”
On Thursday, just one day prior to the little guy’s big day, Ashlee couldn’t contain her excitement!
“BX’s 1st bday tomorrow!” she wrote. “My angel is going to be a year!! The greatest year of my life.”
And Pete couldn’t help himself either.
He jumped on Twitter exclaiming, “Happy birthday bx. you dont have twitter and cant read this,” he joked. “Thanks to all my friends that recorded lullabies. cant believe its been a year.”
What a cute family! We’re glad to see that even after Ashlee’s Melrose drama she can still look back at her year and say it was the best!
Jessica Simpson has taken to her to address sister Ashlee’s departure from The CW’s new hit drama, Melrose Place!
And she isn’t praising the show…
Jess used to Tweet about the show weekly encouraging her followers to watch Ashlee! “Everyone watch my sis on melrose place tonight,” she wrote Oct. 20.
She’s singing a different tune these days…
Ashlee got the boot from Melrose last month after claims that her acting skills weren’t up to par and that they were just using her for her name!
“They hired her because they needed a good name to help create buzz,” a set insider told Us Weekly. “But she was embarrassingly bad. Producers cut her down as much as possible.”
A second source added, “She’s the worst actress, but nobody will tell her.”
Our girl J.Simp went on a Twitterade Sunday evening throwing a few decent digs at the show.
“CW catching up on MP.who writes this crap?i have had bad scripts to work with,but this?thank God my sister is amazing and got you some press,” she Tweeted.
As avid Melrose Place fans, we have to agree with the show! Ash’s acting was bad… but so bad that it made the show more entertaining!
Ashlee Simpson’s acting career recently came to a halt after she lost her role on Melrose Place. Could this be the reason why she, and hubby Pete Wentz have put their huge hillside Beverly Hills mansion on the market?
The couple has been dealing with some rocky marriage rumors lately, however, the duo’s decision to make the move was on behalf of their baby boy, Bronx, an insider tells Life & Style. It has nothing to do with job loss or a potential split.
“The house is built into the side of a giant hill and it doesn’t really have any yard. Now that Bronx is getting older they realized that really isn’t a child-friendly house,” the insider explains.
“They are going to sell this house and look for something that will be better suited to young children.”
Ashlee purchased the 5,896-square-foot hillside home in January 2007 for a reported $4.5 million. The Mediterranean-style structure consists of four floors, with four bedrooms and four baths, including a master bedroom with his-and-her baths. It has all the usual celeb amenities, including a media room, gym, gourmet kitchen, swimming pool and two-story guest house.
Maybe the Wentz fam will cut you a sweet deal on their old home if you wanna live the rockstar lifestlye!
Just yesterday, it was announced that Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Colin Egglesworth were to be dismissed from their roles on the CW’s Melrose Place.
The remaining cast is heartbroken. Costar Stephanie Jacobsen admitted, “we’re sad!”
“We’re obviously going to miss them!” Jacobsen told to Usmagazine.com on Thursday.
Jacobsen, received the news via phone call from Eggleston himself. “He is a soldier,” she praised. “He said, ‘That’s the business.’ He’s amazing.”
However, Jacobsen did seem less surprised by Simpson-Wentz’s departure, noting, “I don’t know if Ashlee’s involvement was ever intended to exceed the murder mystery story line” that wraps up around the twelfth episode. “But obviously I’m not privy to the details.”
However, to fill in for lost characters, the show has already welcomed the return of Heather Locklear, who is reprising her role as Amanda Woodward. “I chatted with her in makeup and I’ve been in two table reads with her,” Jacobsen notes. “She is warm and divine! We are so excited and flattered to have her!’
Following the devestating news, Simpson-Wentz said in a statement, “Having the chance to play Violet on Melrose Place has been a thrill… Thanks to the CW and the entire cast and crew of Melrose Place for allowing me this opportunity!”
Not gonna lie, we always thought it was a little random that Ashlee was even on the show! We may enjoy her music, and think her family is stunning… but her acting skills just don’t match up. Hope it was fun while it lasted!

Pete Wentz & Ashlee Simpson’s Chicago Fight: What Really Happened!

Ashlee Simpson is knocking down a report on Perez Hilton that she got belligerently drunk at Chicago’s Angels & Kings Saturday night and picked a huge public fight with hubby Pete Wentz. Well, our sources say they did get into some kind of argument after they left, but the report out there is way off!
The report claims that Simpson berated Wentz at the one-year anniversary of his nightclub by yelling at him while he was spinning in the DJ booth and told him he was “horribe”.
Eyewitnesses told us that quite the opposite took place. We’re told that Wentz played a whole DJ set that he dedicated to Simpson while she danced in the VIP section.
Wentz sang the song Wonderwall to Ashlee and shouted “I love my girl” over the mike. And not only that, but when Pete wasn’t in the DJ booth we’re told the two were spotted being “super affectionate” all night by kissing and dancing with each other.
A rep for the nightclub told us this about their alleged fight:
“NO way, they were way too lovey to be fighting!”
However, one witness told us that Pete and Ashlee did get into an argument outside the nightclub as they were leaving.
Another source said that Pete, who said he was “over served” all night, was actually the wasted one. And their altercation outside was Ashlee just trying to get Pete, who could barely walk, into their SUV safely.
Today Ashlee fired back at Perez on Twitter saying this:
My husband is an amazing dj and was dedicating songs to me. We were just havin fun. Our love is amazing. Get ur own life. When all you do is make up untrue stories- look in the mirror. Do you even feel human?? Karma is a bitch.Your story is WAY off.”
You know what they say…there are three sides to every story. Your side, my side and then the truth! LOL!
Most rock stars put drugs, alcohol and groupies as their no. 1 priority, but not our home boy Pete Wentz!
