Reese Witherspoon and beau Jake Gyllenhaal are going through a rocky time. Blame it on the distance. Gyllenhaal is splitting his time in Morocco and London filming his new flick Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.

“This is his first epic, and his mind is on his work. They talk on the phone and e-mail, but he’s not ‘there,’” a friend of Reese’s told Star magazine. “Reese is wondering if this is how it’s going to be between them every time he’s out of the country filming.”

Reese and her kids have been left in Los Angeles — and left feeling alone. “They really needed to reconnect and remember why they were in a relationship in the first place,” said another source said of Reese’s trip to London in September to visit Jake. “While there, they even went house hunting for a place because Jake will be using London as his home base until December. Reese doesn’t like the formality of a hotel for her and her two kids.”

Let’s hope these two can figure out a way to reconnect because they’re super cute together!
