Jessica Simpson: “I’ll Never Record A Pop Album Again!”
Jessica Simpson announced at Country Thunder on Saturday night that she’s in country music to stay and is never recording a pop album again to a thunder of applause!
“I feel so at home in this genre of music and I just want you guys to know that I am not making another pop record ever again,” Simpson told cheering fans. “I’m staying in country and that’s where I plan to be.”
Watch the video to hear it straight from Jessica’s mouth!
For all the false reports that claim Simpson was booed Saturday night, we know that is not going to stop this new force in country music. She said so herself!
“If you don’t go buy this record on September 9th I’m just going to make another one and you’re going to buy it on another September 9th,” Simpson said.
You go country girl!

She was booed. People magazine confirmed it, a festival rep confirmed it. It just wasn’t a huge cascade of boos like some might think. A lot of the ones who booed made their way over to the beer tents during her set. It would’ve been a lot less rude if they’d gone over there earlier instead of booing when she was introduced.
And let’s not kid ourselves, the reaction set was definitely mixed and a lot more muted than it was for the sets that came before hers (like Kellie Pickler’s) and the one that came after (Sara Evans’s). It doesn’t help that her stage presence isn’t very good.
I get you’re excited about your exclusive but a “new force in country music”? Please. There is a huge list of young country women who can sing Jessica under a table. I’m not just talking Carrie, I’m talking Leann Rimes, Miranda Lambert, Ashton Shepherd, Kellie Pickler, Julianne Hough, Rissi Palmer, and I haven’t even gotten to the legends or soon to be legends like Reba, Martina, and Trisha. Right now there’s some buzz because it turns out Jessica Simpson singing country music isn’t as awful as she was singing most of her pop music. But that’s more a sign of how bad her pop music was. She’s still just an average singer who, let’s face it, is getting these chances because she spent all these years being a professional celebrity. She’ll need to work hard to stand out in country music because she doesn’t have enough talent to rely on that alone.

See Ms. Crokin, I’m not the only one that see thru the bs. Maybe you should try to report more diverse celebrity news, instead of being Jessica’s personal cheerleader.

I heard booing where I was. Kellie was better.
