A rock star line-up of A-list performers in the music business showed up for the World Music Awards last night, which was hosted super randomly by Jesse Metcalfe in Monte Carlo.
Seriously, how did Jesse score this gig? Has he even done a thing since appearing on the first few episodes of Desperate Housewives?
Celebrities who presented and or performed included: Ringo Starr, Barbara Bach, Beyonce Knowles, Solange Knowles, Anastacia, Chace Crawford, Kid Rock, Estelle, Alicia Keys and Akon.
Whitney Houston hasn’t come out with an album since 2003, but a new track featuring Akon called Like I Never Left has leaked onto the Internet.
It’s supposed to be a love song, but it sounds pretty autobiographic with lyrics like, “Did you ever wish you could get back something that you did in your past… Cause it’s a cold world when you’re out there all alone. So many times I wanted to just pick up the phone.”
No matter what, Whitney’s a legend and I’m sure she’ll have no problem making a comeback!
Akon performed at Enclave nightclub Friday night in Chicago. Instead of throwing a random audience member off the stage into the crowd again, he dove off stage. I wonder if he’ll press charges against himself?
Akon needs to calm down. He threw a kid off stage during a performance at the KFest the other night where he opened for Gwen Stefani. The teenager reportedly dissed Akon before he used him as a frisbee.
