Whitney Houston gave shocking details about her abusive 14-year marriage to ex-hubby Bobby Brown on Monday’s Oprah in her first interview in seven years.
“He slapped me once, but he got hit on the head three times by me,” Houston told O during a two-part interview which premiered Monday.
Houston said that once Brown even spat on her when he got drunk.
Houston said she “was horrified he spit on me, in my face” and that left her “very hurt, very angry.”
What a pig! Him, Chris Brown and Kanye West should start a loser club!
Houston went on to say that he resented her for loving him so much.
“He had such hate in his eyes for me, because I loved him so much.”
She said that when he got angry he’d cut her head off in pictures and paint evil eyes on their bedroom wall with spray paint. Um, can anyone say PSYCHO?!
“He was my drug,” Houston said of Brown. “I didn’t do anything without him.”
Houston admitted to battling addictions to cocaine and marijuana and she also said she felt the need to downplay her success to Brown.
“I tried to play down all the time,” Houston said. “I used to say, ‘I’m Mrs. Brown, don’t call me Houston.’”
It’s sad, but so many powerful women have to downplay their success for the sake of their husband’s ego!
Oprah Winfrey is kicking off the season premiere of her show with a rare interview with Whitney Houston.
This will be the first interview the Grammy Award-winning singer has done in seven years and probably has much to do with the release of her new album I Look to You.
The always dramatic Oprah is calling the interview - set to air on Sept. 14 - “the most anticipated music interview of the decade.” Hmmmm…probably because the last time she did an interview in 2002 with Diane Sawyer she was a total crackhead!
One can only hope that she dishes out another fantastic one-liner like “crack is whack”! LOL!
Grammy winner Jennifer Hudson did her first interview since her family members were murdered this morning on The Oprah Winfrey Show and the upbeat singer told Oprah that she is doing well and she’s happy to be back to work.
O asked the once American Idol contestant about singing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl and winning an Oscar but she respectfully didn’t touch on the Hudson family murders.
When asked about her experience singing the National Anthem, Hudson replied, “There was so much going on. I just zoned out.”
And those high notes? Ever wonder if J-Hud struggles with them?
“To me the biggest notes are the easiest because I know I’m at the end of it and its over and I can go home.”
Hudson also took home the Grammy for Best R&B album and it was presented to her by none other than icon Whitney Houston.
“That’s when I lost it”, J-Hud describes about seeing Whitney presenting the award. “Having her present me with the award was almost better than winning the actual Grammy.”
And fitting that Hudson won a Grammy to finally to keep her Oscar company.
“I have an Oscar and a Grammy and keep them in my piano room. My Oscar is next to a picture of my dog Oscar and my Grammy is next to a picture of Whitney and Beyonce.”
In the interview, that O kept short and sweet, Jennifer barely touched on her personal life but when asked how she was doing, she coyly responded, “I’m good”.
She added, “I’m glad to be back to doing what I love. I just pray every morning.”
Well Jennifer, we’re glad you’re back too and we can’t wait to see your show in March.
Whitney Houston hasn’t come out with an album since 2003, but a new track featuring Akon called Like I Never Left has leaked onto the Internet.
It’s supposed to be a love song, but it sounds pretty autobiographic with lyrics like, “Did you ever wish you could get back something that you did in your past… Cause it’s a cold world when you’re out there all alone. So many times I wanted to just pick up the phone.”
No matter what, Whitney’s a legend and I’m sure she’ll have no problem making a comeback!
She stepped out with Clive Davis last night and dined at Nobu 57 in New York City. It’s nice to see her looking a healthy weight and sober. Hopefully their dinner was about business. She’s due for a career comeback!
