With Simon Cowell’s upcoming American Idol departure, there’s been speculation that Howard Stern will take his spot on the judging panel, but Kara DioGuardi is crossing her fingers that it doesn’t happen!
“I don’t really know if I can even speak on it,” DioGuardi said of the Stern rumor during a press conference call Wednesday.
Finding it hard to keep a lid on it, DioGuardi commented on the rumor. “I don’t know that [Stern] has a musical background,” she mused. “I think that if you’re gonna replace Simon, you have to have that background.”
Smart thinking adding that last bit in as Stern could fire back about Hollywood judge Ellen DeGeneres’ lack of musical background.
DioGuardi noted that the Idol newcomer does in fact bring a lot to the judging table though.
“Ellen brings a sense of humor, of course, but also I think she knows more about music than we think she does,” she explained.
“She had a really good handle on whether a contestant had potential,” DioGuardi added. “She knew that something was off in the vocals or in their performance…I thought she delivered the message with kindness but also had criticism in there…she did an incredible job for her first time there.”
While Cowell’s official replacement has yet to be confirmed, Stern announced on his Sirius radio show Monday that his name is in the bag of possibilities.
“There’s not a better job on the planet than judging that f—ing karaoke contest,” Stern said. “It would be the best thing that happened to me…What a cush job — $100 million for four months. Who wouldn’t take that?”
Besides not knowing shit about musical talent, we can only imagine the disgusting remarks he’d say to the girls!

Tuesday’s episode of American Idol proved that Katy Perry truly is hot and cold!
We’re not sure if anyone else noticed, but girl was on some super bitch shit when she appeared as a guest judge on the hit FOX reality show.
Not only did Perry seem to be PMSing big time but she also threatened to throw her conveniently product placed Coke at Idol judge, Kara DioGuardi!
While some may have been hoping for hot girl fight, Kara says it was in good fun and she didn’t take offense to Katy’s words!
“People actually think that I was upset by this — like there was tension,” DioGuardi said on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show.
“I think that it’s really good that she disagreed with me,” DioGuardi continued. “I think that it’s important that people have different opinions or else who wants to watch the show? It’d be boring.”
We totally agree because when in the hell did Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul ever meet eye-to-eye on anything? With Perry it seemed a bit different though. The chick was on THEIR turf… where’s the respect, yo?!
Maybe this is how their relationships works though considering the two have known each other for years.
“It’s Katy. I’ve known Katy for a long time.,” DioGuardi said.
While Kara may have been able to handle Katy’s snotty ass attitude, her strong Italian family back home was ready to lay a bitch out!
“My Italian cousins back home wrote me texts like, ‘Does she need a smack down?’ I was like, ‘No. You’ve got to chill out,’” DioGuardi joked.
Do we foresee an upcoming appearance on Friday night WWE SmackDown??? Katy and Kara are two hot-ass bitches though, of course there’s gonna be some tension!

The pop star will sit along side fellow judges Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi during the Dallas auditions.
Additionally, Idol Alum Kelly Clarkson was rumored to appear as a guest judge, but a rep tells Us, it’s “not true.”
However, other celebs filling in for Paula Abdul will include, Victoria Beckham, Katy Perry, Shania Twain and Mary J. Blige.

Newlywed Kara DioGuardi will be returning to American Idol for it’s ninth season!
The singer-songwriter and record producer joined original judges Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, and Paula Abdul last season, and definitely made a splash! Rumors flew all season regarding tension between DioGuardi and Abdul, but both shot down claims that they didn’t get along.
After much speculation regarding who would return to Idol this time around, the show couldn’t be more excited to announce DioGuardi’s return!
“We are so happy to welcome back Kara for her second season with Idol,” the show’s creator and executive producer, Simon Fuller, said in a statement Monday. “She is a breath of fresh air, and her passion for music and her understanding of talent is invaluable. This show is all about discovering new talent, and Kara’s championing of Adam Lambert is proof positive of her great instinct.”
“Kara brings her own special style and sensibility to the show, which includes her innate talent to identify, nurture and direct a performer’s potential. We’re very pleased with her contributions as the fourth judge on the panel,” executive producer Cecile Frot-Coutaz added.
While Cowell and Jackson are also slated to return, it hasn’t been confirmed whether or not Abdul will be back, as she continues to hash out a new contract.
“I’ve been trying to work out details of how I can return,” she Tweeted on July 30.
We thought Paula’s manager said it appeared unlikely that she would return to Idol? Looks like she’s determined to make the contract work because she’s a total nut-job and knows her career will go down the tubes again without the show!
With his plethora of television shows, Ryan Seacrest has recently been deemed the richest reality TV host… EVER!
The E! and American Idol host recently signed a three-year contract with CKX, the parent of Idol producer 19 Entertainment, and is apparently worth $15 million per year, says The Hollywood Reporter.
Under his contract, which took several weeks to finalize, Ryan will be exclusive to CKX in primetime TV and will only host Idol or possibly another CKX-produced show that might succeed it.
With this new deal, Ryan makes more than THREE TIMES his prior salary which was slightly less than $5 million per season.
Good thing we’re in such a thriving economy…
And although the contract seems pretty exclusive, Ryan will still hold his cable contract with Comcast and E! and he’ll continue producing shows like Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
Additionally, since Ryan has secured his future participation with the show, the Reporter says that Idol wants to secure deals with Judges Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul, and Kara DioGuardi.
And what about Simon Cowell?! Well… his future still remains up in the air!
American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi tied the knot with longtime boyfriend Mike McCuddy over the weekend!
The Idol newcomer wed Sunday in what Pastor Scott Nurse, Sr. described as a “very sweet” ceremony in Prospect Harbor, Maine, Usmagazine.com confirmed.
“They are absolutely in love with each other,” Pastor Scott Nurse, Sr. told Us. “When I told him he could kiss the bride, everybody cheered. It was a very close, small family-type service.”
The ceremony, which lasted all of 20 minutes, consisted of 30 of the couple’s closest friends and family.
Did Simon and the rest of the American Idol gang attend?!
“I don’t think they’d appreciate an invitation to Prospect Harbor, Maine,” DioGuardi told Us last month at the 40th annual Songwriters Hall of Fame Ceremony in New York City. “I can’t really see Simon Cowell landing in Prospect Harbor. I don’t think that would happen.”

American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi has set the record straight about Idol runner up, Adam Lambert’s sexuality.
“He’s gay”.
“I don’t think that Adam was ever in [the closet],” she says in a taped interview on Friday’s episode of The View. “I think he was always openly out.”
During the same interview, Barbara Walters asked again if Lambert, who has never publicly announced he’s gay, “was always openly out.”
“I think he was,” DioGuardi responded. “I mean, from what I’ve seen … I do. I never thought he wasn’t.”
Walters then asked if Lambert’s perceived sexuality may have influenced Idol voters, DioGuardi said, “Well, first of all, I hope not … because we should be judging on talent and viability in the music industry and they both [Lambert and winner Kris Allen] had that.”
Lambert has so far avoided questions about his sexuality, however, he is rumored to announce he’s gay in an upcoming issue of Rolling Stone.
“I know who I am,” he recently told Entertainment Weekly. “I’m an honest guy, and I’m just going to keep on singing,”

Could Kara DioGuardi be the next from Idol to get the boot?
“I’m only here for one season,” Kara told TV Guide. “That’s what we’ve discussed. So we’ll see what happens. Hopefully, they’ll keep me on.”
How do her fellow judges feel about her potential return though?
There has been a noticeable tension between Kara and Simon Cowell. However, he thinks she’ll be back, stating “I would imagine so, but the only say I have is about Ryan, Randy and Paula. I’ve always made it clear that I wouldn’t like to do the show without them. So that’s all I’m really concerned about.”
And while Paula Abdul doesn’t have any personal feelings against Kara, she never completely warmed up to the idea of a fourth judge, expressing concern of whether or not the audience would accept her.
Regardless of the outcome though, Kara has had an amazing time on the show.
“My life has become extremely exciting and I am so excited for this opportunity,” she says. “I feel grateful to America that they let me grow and they let me find my groove on the show and that they were patient. And hopefully I haven’t disappointed them. It’s been a scary experience at times.”
We’re with Paula… who needs a fourth judge? Sorry Kara, but we think your time is up on Idol.
In a recent interview, Paula revealed that this is her last season under contract, but didn’t say if she was resigning, according to People.
“I love the show, I do,” Paula said. “I love what I do on the show and I’m loving it more this season than ever. It’s taken me a while to get comfortable in my own skin with the show.”
It’s even been speculated that Kara DioGuardi was brought on to replace Paula, however, Paula says that’s not the case at all.
“I don’t think anyone [can replace me]. First of all, Kara says ‘I could never replace you.’ And I said whenever there is change it’s not about replacing anybody; it’s about possibly moving on.”
From what we’ve heard it doesn’t sound like Paula is ready to leave the show or her pills. However, after watching through the seasons, we know there is always some shock in who gets the boot!
Looks like the lady judges of American Idol are in a bit of a tiff.
In an interview with OK! magazine, Paula Abdul said she “gets along great” with new judge Kara DioGuardi, but she also said that she didn’t like the idea of having four judges on the show.
“We tried four judges before and it doesn’t work. It takes up so much time for each of us to give our opinion that it slows down the pace of the show,” Paula told the rag.
But Kara fired back. “Paula has a right to her opinions, but I was disappointed by her comments, and hurt that she did not address them to me in person,” Kara said in an exclusive statement to .
Paula’s reps have gone on to say that her comments were taken the wrong way, which is hard to believe. “Paula’s quote was taken out of context,” the rep told Access. “She was referring to previous ‘guest judges’ from past seasons. Not Kara.”
We knew this was bound to happen! Women in the workplace can be such royal bitches to each other so this is no shocker. Regardless, The Boots Girls love Kara and think she’s far more talented, sane and put together than Paula! But we do love Paula too for the train wreck entertainment she provides us with!
