Today, Monday Jan. 11, marks the second birthday of Harlow Winter Kate Madden, the daughter to Nicole Richie and Joel Madden.
And Nicole is set on making this the most special day for her daughter! This morning at 6 a.m., Nicole Tweeted, “Up super early sneaking around the house in the dark setting up surprises for when my birthday girl wakes up!”
And even before Nicole woke up, Harlow’s daddy wished his daughter a happy birthday via Twitter, saying, “Happy Birthday to the most beautiful little girl in the world. Harlow makes me proud every. single. Day. i’m blessed.”
Also to wish the little girl a happy b-day… Khloe Kardashian! “Happy Birthday Harlow!!!” she Tweeted earlier this morning.
What a lucky little girl! We can’t imagine what kind of presents and surprises Nicole has planned… but we bet she get’s spoiled rotten!
Nicole Richie is safe and sound at home with her family after an unexpected trip to the hospital last week!
The reality star checked herself into Cedars-Sinai Hospital early last week after becoming ill due to pneumonia.
“Don’t worry,” her boyfriend Joel Madden wrote on the website for his band, Good Charlotte. “All is well and we are home with no problems.”
Like your typical concerned boyfriend, rushing to his babies mama side after returning from an international tour, Madden says he, “stepped off the plane . . . and basically went straight to the hospital for the week . . . Family first.”
Is it just us or does he seem like the best boyfriend ever? The world seriously needs more Joel Maddens — a guy that knows how to treat a girl right — instead of all these ASSHOLES. Period.
Now that his girl is on the road to recovery, Madden is eager to get back to work on his band’s next album. Let’s hope he’s also keeping babies Harlow and Sparrow away from their germ infested mommy!
“Getting home from the hospital to a healthy family is enough for me, but to do what i love is the icing on the cake,” he writes.

Cute couple Nicole Richie and Joel Madden were rumored to have wed in the latest issue of Star magazine. Unfortunately, Joel denied the claims on his band’s website.
“I keep getting emails from old friends and family asking about a wedding. NO we didn’t get married,” he blogs.
The unwed lovebirds have two children together, Sparrow and Harlow.
Last may, the two had no immediate plans to wed.
“I think for both of us, we are going to do it because we want to, not because that’s what you do,” Richie told CNN’s Larry King. “We’re going to do it when the time’s right.”
Added Madden, “We’re really focused on our family, and we feel like — we already feel kind of married, you know? Our family system that we have down, we feel like this is a real family and marriage, one day it will come.”
Instead of talking about herself for once, Paris Hilton focused on answering questions regarding her bestie Nicole Richie’s newborn!
“The name is just so amazing,” she told Usmagazine.com over the weekend at a Kate Somerville Emmys gifting suite in L.A. “I love how she comes up with these exotic names. I think Harlow and Sparrow sound cute together.”
Richie, who celebrated the big 2-8 on Sunday, is “just so excited to have boy,” Hilton told Us. “It’s a perfect addition to the family. It just makes them the perfect little family.”
Though Nicole and her boyfriend Joel Madden seem as happy as can be, Hilton doesn’t think the two lovebirds will wed anytime soon.
“I just think they are just happy.”
It’s nice to see Hollywood couples that don’t feel the need to rush and get married in order to prove their love to the world. Let’s face it, those types usually fail within a year!
So what about Paris’ love life? In case you’ve been living under a rock, she’s back with douche bag Doug Reinhardt.
Surprisingly, she said things are “good” with her on-again boytoy.
“We were just in Fiji and Bora Bora, Indonesia and Europe together,” she told Us. “He’s, like, my best friend. We are just very close. I just tell him everything. We have a lot in common. So it’s nice to be together.”

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden have welcomed their second child, a baby boy!
“In the middle of night, the very early hours of September 9, 2009, Sparrow James Midnight Madden was born to Nicole Richie and Joel Madden,” Nicole announced on her website earlier today. “He weighs 7lbs 14oz. Nicole, Joel, Harlow [their 19-month-old daughter] and Sparrow are all doing well. Thank you for all of your good wishes.”
In February, Joel announced he and Nicole were expecting again on his band’s blog. “What’s better than winning an Oscar?” he wrote. “I am so happy to tell everyone that Harlow is going to be a big sister!”
However, even as their family expands, the two are in no hurry to wed, reports Usmagazine.com.
“I think for both of us, we are going to do it because we want to, not because that’s what you do,” Nicole told CNN’s Larry King last May. “We’re going to do it when the time’s right.”
Joel added, “We’re really focused on our family, and we feel like — we already feel kind of married, you know? Our family system that we have down, we feel like this is a real family and marriage, one day it will come.”
Additionally, Nicole’s father Lionel wants them “to take their time.”
He told Larry King he knows people who have wed spontaneously “and they broke up five minutes later. I like the idea of ‘take your time, get it right,’ because you have kids in common.”
He continued by saying “I’m more interested in whether they like each other and whether they’re best friends, because that means they’ll be great parents forever.”

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden have finally decided to walk down the aisle!
The couple are planning to have an intimate ceremony with about 50 of their close friends and family members on Christmas Eve at Richie’s dad’s, Lionel’s, Bel-Air mansion, according to the National Enquirer.
“Joel and Nicole want to make Christmas their special family holiday,” an insider said.
Richie, who is due with their second child at the end of the summer, is thrilled with the date because she’ll have enough time to lose the baby weight.
“Nicole and Joel are determined to keep things quiet and low-key,” the insider said. “And Nicole’s taken the reins - planning everything, right down to helping design her bridal gown.
“She is also thrilled about the date they chose, because she’ll have time to lose the baby weight.”
The couple have been together since 2006 and have argued on whether or not they should marry.
“For Joel, Christmas has always been about family and faith,” explained the insider. “Marrying Nicole at that time of year makes the event so much more spiritual and special to him.”
Nicole’s BFF’s - Paris and Nicky Hilton, Rashida Jones and Masha Gordon - will be her bridesmaids, and Joel’s twin bro, Benji, is set to be best man.
After their Christmas wedding they plan on jetting off for a two-week Hawaiian honeymoon.
“Nicole has been dreaming of this day for years, and she’s taking care of every little detail,” added the insider.

The proud parents who already have a 16 month-old daughter, Harlow, together will welcome a baby boy to the family in August, a source recently told In Touch Weekly.
The couple have apparently been dropping hints left and right regarding the sex of the baby!
”Joel bought water-based paint for the nursery and – surprise, surprise – it’s blue,” a friend of the couple said. ”Plus, she recently ordered some plush animals and infant toys from FAO Schwarz, and everything just happens to be blue,” the friend added.

Benji Madden and twin brother, Joel Madden, have admitted to “sharing everything” but their lives couldn’t be more different right now.
Benji, who is dubbed the “single” twin, is diving into his music more than ever, while Joel is expecting baby no. 2 with girlfriend, Nicole Richie.
“The family vibe in our band is really strong right now and we’re all really enjoying that,” he tells People.com.
“I’m the last single guy in the band so I get to dive into the music a little more, which I love. My life is great right now. It’s wonderful.”
And how did Uncle Benji find out about the new addition?
“You have to wait before you can tell people,” he admits at the World Poker Tour Celebrity Invitational in California. “I found out a little bit earlier. We’re twin brothers so we share everything.”
Benji, who dated Paris Hilton, admits that he loves his life right now but would like to start a family in the future.
“I’m great with kids and I absolutely want kids when the time is right and I have the right partner,” he says. “I’ll bring them on tour. They’ll be little rock ‘n’ roll kids.”

The couple who are parents to daughter, Harlow Winter Kate, announced they are expecting their second child together.
In a message on the Good Charlotte Web site, the band’s frontman, Madden wrote, “I am so happy to tell everyone that Harlow is going to be a big sister! God has truly blessed my family. Hope [you're] all feeling as good as i am right now.”
Madden’s message is titled “Better than winning an OSCAR!”
There’s been reports that Joel and Nicole’s relationship has been rocky in the past months. We hope that they’re not using a baby as a quick fix for deeper issues!
It seems like just yesterday Christina Aguilera gave birth to her son Max, and now the little guy is turning one.
Aguilera and her hubby, Jordan Bratman, threw the tot a star studded first birthday bash on Saturday afternoon with a Where the Wild Things Are theme.
Pals Nicole Richie, Joel Madden and daughter Harlow were among the intimate group of 40 that celebrated at the casual backyard bash where surrounding trees were decorated in festive blue, green and pink balloons. A source also says that as a special treat the party was attended by costumed mythical characters from the book.
Aguilera made sure the birthday cuisine was kid-friendly too, offering guests to nosh on mini peanut butter-and-jelly sandwiches.
