So far 2010 has brought Vince Vaughn a wife, and now it may bring him a new career venture in his native Chicago.

The funny man is thinking about purchasing the Mercury Theatre in the Wrigleyville neighborhood, and he’s looking to convert the venue into a comedy club.

“Vince Vaughn is interested in purchasing the Mercury Theatre,” an inside source reveals. “He is looking to turn it into a comedy club.”

Vaughn has been no stranger to standup comedy. In 2005 he hosted the Vince Vaughn Wild West Comedy Show, which kicked off and wrapped in the Windy City. Vaughn brought all of his best funny friends to perform on the tour with him.

“Vince did the comedy tour so the idea would be for him to put some of his friends to work,” the source said. “This way he can do what he likes, comedy, and be successful.”

Looks like The Wedding Crasher star is looking for ways to plant more roots in Chicago after going domestic on us marrying girlfriend Kyla Weber in Lake Forest, Ill., earlier this month.

We just hope Vince continues to keep the LOLs coming whether it’s on the big screen or the small stage, because last time we saw him he legit made us cry!

Chicago’s greatest douche bag, Vince Vaughn, is officially off the market ladies!

The actor married his girlfriend Kyla Weber at a low key ceremony in Lake Forest, Ill., on Saturday Jan. 2, his rep confirms to Usmagazine.com.

The wedding took place before “several dozen friends and family” in an “opulent, historic house at Lake Forest Academy,” according to GossipCop.com.

Vaughn announced in October that he popped the question to his Canadian real estate agent girlfriend on Valentine’s Day 2009. Aww, how original. NOT!

“I figured this is not a ship to be missed because I will not forget this date,” Vaughn told Ellen DeGeneres. “So Valentine’s Day was the day that I asked her.”

Friends and family lay Chicago native director John Hughes to rest…

Vince Vaughn, Matthew Broderick and Ben Stein were among the many attendees who gathered in a Chicago suburb Tuesday for the funeral of Mr. Hughes. Some even opened up to reporters after the services and shared their thoughts and memories of the famous director.

Stein, who spoke at the funeral, described the services as “very touching” and said that there was “a lot of crying.”

“We’ll never see his like again,” he told reporters after the service. “He was the Wordsworth of the suburban America post-war generation. He was a great, great, great genius and as much of a friend and a great family man as he was a poet.”

After the funeral, mourners gathered in a procession to Lake Forest cemetery to say their final goodbyes and lay Hughes to rest.

It looks like Johnny Depp and Vince Vaughn are Hollywood’s hottest new best man friends!

There isn’t one girl on the planet who doesn’t have a crush on Capt. Jack Sparrow, so we were not the least surprised to hear about VV’s man crush on the global superstar!

Vaughn and Depp both were in the Windy City last week tearing it up. Depp premiered his Public Enemies film on Thursday night and hit up two after parties with costar Marion Cotillard. On Friday night, Vaughn bar hopped with fiance Kyla Weber at The Wit Hotel rooftop and Stay.

The stars must’ve been aligned on Saturday, because that’s when Depp and Vaughn collided. Depp and Vaughn were spotted sharing their mutual love for Chicago and their passion for boozing together at the Peninsula hotel, where Depp had been holed up for a few days.

The movie stars were spotted dining at a table together in one of the hotel’s swank restaurants. However, this wasn’t the first time they had hung out.

“They met a little while back while they were both in London,” according to a source. “They were thinking about going out and partying Saturday night, but didn’t make it.”

Depp doesn’t hang out with other celebrities too often, because he can’t stand Hollywood. (Either can we!) However, when he’s in his favorite U.S. city - that’s clearly not the case!

Notorious party boy and recently engaged Vince Vaughn is renting his Chicago River North condo and it could be yours for a mere $9,500 a month.

The four-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bathroom townhouse comes with the option to take the space fully furnished for a little more money, meaning that he or she could throw an Old School-style party with Vaughn’s sound system and home theater, and then go to sleep on his king-sized bed in the master suite.

“It can be rented unfurnished or furnished – if you want the Vince Vaughn effect,” Rubloff real-estate agent Liane Pruchnik told Chicago Business.

Not sure that we’d suggest sleeping in Vaughn’s bed considering his track record with the ladies but we’re sure it’s a pretty sweet pad.

Surely some young Chicago d-bag will spend every penny he’s got to live like Vince!

Vince Vaughn’s fiancée Kyla Weber finally stepped out with her engagement ring over the weekend at a matinee in Santa Monica.

We exclusively reported that Vaughn proposed to Weber before Valentine’s Day with a diamond ring reportedly worth $125,000.

“It’s magnificent,” Weber’s colleague Sylvia Smith told Sun Media. “It’s a great big diamond surrounded by other circular diamonds.”

As of now, no wedding date is set. The Boots Girls wouldn’t be at all surprised if the couple chose to walk down the aisle in the Windy City!

We exclusively reported last week that DJ AM canceled his Friday the 13 gig to spin at Chicago’s Enclave nightclub because he was almost involved in a second fatal plane crash.

We were told that AM had planned on taking the Continental flight which crashed in Buffalo, New York and we even published a statement that AM and his management put out through the nightclub.

“After another close call in the dangers of flying, he has opted out of all gigs that are within flying distance and only feels comfortable attending gigs that are within driving distance,” the statement read.

Since they released the statement acknowledging AM’s second brush with death, they decided that they would prefer to keep the story “under wraps”.

So DJ AM’s publicist has come out to TMZ and flat out lied by denying our reports:

“DJ AM was never booked on the Continental flight that crashed last month, in fact he was performing that evening in NYC. That crash nor the one he was involved in, has prevented him from flying — although he has tremendously scaled back his east coast residencies to focus on his recovery.”

This is hilarious to us! Basically AM’s rep is denying something that his management put out! Ha! AM needs to stick with spinning records, not lies! Celebrities get pissed when false stories come out about them, but most are guilty of doing the same thing. Hypocrite AM and his pr team are lying by denying our story and it’s pretty sh*tty.

I have more respect for Vince Vaughn, who we highly dislike over here, because at least his people will just say they “don’t know” or “no comment” when they don’t want to acknowledge our stories as fact. We exclusively reported his engagement here and that’s exactly what his people did.
