Self-proclaimed "miracle" man Patrick Swayze celebrated his 56th birthday today in Chicago - a glorious day that many thought he may never see. The actor, who's battling pancreatic cancer, looked as good as gold today arriving on the set at the break of dawn to film scenes for the third episode of the A&E series The Beast and The Boots Girls were there! Nothing was stopping this optimistic star as he filmed all day at Millennium Park in the downtown area of the Windy City in 80 degree weather and choosing to do his own stunts. In one scene, Swayze leapt over a 10 ft. high stone fence and then sprinted at least a 50 yard dash through the park . "I can't believe the stamina he has," one eyewitness exclaimed. "He looked like he was training for the Olympics!" Swayze broke for lunch around noon and was met by his adoring wife, Lisa Niemi, and relatives at his trailer. Crew set up the trailer with birthday signs and decor and they brought him a cake. Swayze could not have been in a better mood. He was waving to fans, signing autographs and dishing out hugs like candy. When Swayze got back to the set, he got a pleasant surprise from the crew. They all had thrown on shirts that read "Crazy for Swayze" and sang Happy Birthday when he stepped out of his SUV. "It was a very touching moment for everyone," a source on the set said. "Patrick was filled with joy and smiles. You can tell that he is loving life and so happy to be alive." We're so happy to report about Swayze's special birthday today!
