Jeremy Piven Auctions Off Entourage Walk-On Roles
Theatre enthusiasts gathered at Rockit Bar & Grill on Saturday night in Chicago for the annual Piven Theatre Workshop, hosted by one of the organizations leaders and HBO’s Entourage star, Jeremy Piven.
The Boots Girls got a few minutes to chat with Piven, although he was a little distracted. Piven seemed to have more focus on the ladies in the room than answering our questions, but we did have a chance to ask Jeremy about the benefit, and the purpose of the organization.
“We are a theatre organization that is based in Evanston, Illinois but we are getting ready to move our headquarters to Chicago,” Piven told us.
An auction was held at the event and Jeremy told us, “All of the profit from tonight’s auctions go to scholarships for the kids.” Well the scholarships just got a big boost because when the auction started for a walk-on role for Entourage the bids soared. The package was for one, yes, just one walk-on roll but the bids got so high that Piven generously extended out a second walk on role. The roles went for $20,000 a piece and Jeremy told the female winners after the bidding closed, “After that bidding, there may have to be some kissing scenes added!”
Also in attendance to support a fellow Hollywood star were Josh Kelley sans wife, Katherine Heigl. Kelley arrived in town Saturday afternoon to sing the National Anthem at U.S. Cellular field for the Cubs/Sox Crosstown Challenge.
Also in attendance supporting Piven was D.B. Sweeney, star of the 1992 ice skating drama, The Cutting Edge.
