Last November several internet bloggers cruelly ripped on Madonna’s daughter, Lourdes, after photographs surfaced of the 11 year-old with evident facial hair.

Perez Hilton made some ruthless remarks about Madge’s little girl and since then Hilton has curiously taken at least one of his posts about Lourdes off his site.

I believe part of that post included this statement tagged with a close-up photo of Lourdes’ face: “What’s worse? For a woman to have a unibrow or hair on her lip?”

(The Boots Girls want to know what’s worse? To make fun of a woman or a little girl? Lourdes sure as hell isn’t a woman yet!)

A less vicious attack on Lourdes is still posted on Perez. The headline reads: “If You Are Easily Offended…..”

This is what reads under an airbrushed pic of Lourdes with less hair on her upper lip and in-between her eyebrows.

“If she celebrated Christmas, our gift to Madonna’s gorgeous daughter, Lourdes, would be a visit to the waxer. Here’s what she’d look like without the unibrow and lip hair!”

It’s been widely reported that Madonna is a very protective mother so at the time I could only imagine how angry she must’ve been when she got wind of what the blogs were saying about her child.

That was until last night when Madonna released an exclusive ass-kissing video message to Perez which has undoubtedly already driven up the traffic on his site. (As of now the video is already up to 150,000 views and has only been posted for a few hours, according to his site.)

I’m shocked that Madonna would condone someone who is in the business of chastising her own flesh and blood.

It’s no secret Madonna’s doing mad press to promote her upcoming album Hard Candy, but I can’t believe she would stoop to this level for media attention. I know the music business is hurting, but is it possible the mega star is that desperate for publicity?

In all fairness, Madonna may not have known about the nasty remarks Perez made. I want to give her the benefit of the doubt, especially since I well know that celebrities are often misguided by their yes people and gravy train riding handlers who only have their own best interests at heart.

My Madonna sources firmly believe that she would not have released an exclusive video to Perez if she knew he mocked her child in the past. Another source said, “Madonna once terminated one of her house groundskeepers immediately after she found out that he allowed someone to take photos of Lourdes’ room.”

I realize most bloggers aren’t journalists, but we here try to abide by the journalism codes and ethics that are taught and preached at fine journalism schools and respectable newspapers. So that means celebrities and public figures are fair game - their young children are not!

You know, out of 3,500 photographs taken of Franklin D. Roosevelt during his four-term presidency, only two showed him in a wheelchair. The omission was out of respect for the president and his high office. It’s a shame that kind of respect doesn’t exist anymore in this day in age.
