Elton John Helps Eminem Get Sober!
Eminem gets by with a little help from his friends!
Well, we’re not entirely sure if they’re on the BFF level yet, but Em has sought out Elton John to help him fight his drug problem.
“I’ve been helping Eminem over the last 18 months and he’s doing brilliantly,” John says, reports the British Press Association.
During an interview with BBC Radio 5 in the U.K. on Saturday, the 62 year old legend spoke openly about his own past issues with substance abuse and how he uses it to help others.
“I’m there if people want my help. If people ask for help you tell them where to go but there’s no point advising people if they don’t want to do it,” Sir Elton explained.
Last year, Eminem admitted to suffering an intense drug addiction that caused him to down as many as 20 Vicodin, Ambien and Valium in one day day.
“The numbers got so high,” he told Vibe magazine, “I don’t even know what I was taking.
After his first stint in rehab in 2005, the rapper also admitted to almost overdosing after consuming unidentified blue pills, which he later learned was methadone.
Like Captain Planet, Elton John came to his rescue! A potential pill popping duet in the future maybe?!
