Madonna has arrived in Malawi to finalize adoption proceedings for a 3-year-old little girl named Mercy James.

Madonna, along with children David, Rocco and Lourdes, returned to Lilongwe, for a scheduled Monday appearance before a High Court judge on Monday. If the proceedings go as planned, the singer will be allowed to leave with little Mercy.

“Madonna will appear before a judge … to petition the court to certify her adoption,” a source at the High Court told Usmagazine.com. “Madonna will definitely be granted a temporary court order to allow her to take the child away with her.”

A court-appointed overseer will determine Madonna’s eligibility as a parent, and two reports will be presented before the judge before ruling on the adoption.

Malawi’s Chief Child Welfare Officer Simon Chisale, who oversaw Madonna’s first adoption with David, said that even though the courts are in possession of the documents from her first adoption, new reports still have to be filed.

“We take each adoption separately,” he told Us. “We still have to have to have new reports.”

Madonna’s recent divorce to Guy Ritchie have human activists questioning whether or not the Material Girl should be allowed to bring a child into a broken home.

“We should never allow our children to be placed into broken families,” Maxwell Matewere, director of children’s charity, Eye of the Child, has said.

We’re sure Madonna will get what she wants as she always does even though she doesn’t deserve another child!

Madonna is going through the drama of divorce and she has got to be SO busy! I just don’t understand why she thinks now is the right time to adopt another child. Sure the kid will probably get everything it ever wanted… except of course any quality time with her mom
